Introduction

To start, what is a computer network? Well, actually, what is a network? A network means an interconnected group or system. Computer networks are simply a group of two or more computers that are connected via physical cables and/or wirelessly via WiFi.

The intent of a computer network is basically to send and receive data between these computers to do automated work since computers can do certain mundane tasks much faster than any human could. A network of computers all work together to serve one or many common purposes.

An example of automated work that a computer network can do is storing uploaded images such as on Instagram. Instagram most likely has a computer network that handles the incoming image when a user clicks the ‘post’ button to upload it.

The network will first receive the image that came from the users phone that traversed over the internet and then assign one of the computers in the network to process and store it in a database.
